About the presentation:
"Tantrums, Meltdowns, and Defiance...Oh My! How Therapists can use Skillful Parenting to help Families Navigate Challenging Behaviors".
Parenting is often referred to as the most difficult, yet rewarding job on the planet. Parenting trends come and go with every generation, but fad parenting styles can leave parents feeling overwhelmed, confused, and full of doubt. Through her education and experience, Dr. Meyerberg developed a philosophy called "Skillful Parenting" which combines research about cognitive, social, and emotional development alongside the real experiences of families. The workshop will give participants an understanding of current parenting trends, the framework of Skillful Parenting, the empirical justification for use of this philosophy, and ways to implement it in the therapy room as well as teaching it to clients.
Registration is at 8:30am
